I've been writing about persona's lately, described by the late Carl Jung as the mask that we wear to cover our true self. Why would we cover our true self? Because it's easier to put on a mask. We don't have to try very hard if we can simply put on a mask to project what we think others want to see. Or, is it because the rest of the world isn't ready to see it. Maybe there's only a small group of humans enlightened enough to appreciate it, so we fear to show it and be judged. The mask protects us.
So, what does our true self (without a persona) look like? Without our mask, what do we look like? Our true self doesn't have a name/surname to identify with, it has no physical body, it has no ego. Then what is it? It is God. It is our God within.
Now don't you want more of that? I know I do. All it takes is mindful awareness, and the "knowing" that it exists in each and everyone of us. We can be aware of when we put on our masks, take them off, and then turn to our God within as often as possible through meditation, prayer or by just being quiet.
