Have you ever seen a diamond in the rough? It looks like a chunk of glass...an oddly shaped, slightly distorted chunk of glass. Then the stone cutter (Life) cuts it. The cuts might be failure, success, fear, shame, rejection, addiction, pain, suffering, misery (you fill in your blanks here). Without those cuts it stays a big chunk of glass. After the cuts (from Life) it becomes a brilliant, multifaceted jewel.
The more your Life gets cut, chiseled, faceted -- the more brilliant you become. And when the light bounces off those facets... the Spirit smiles. The Spirit smiles because those battle scars make you a Hero and a Warrior in this thing called Life. Not only have you survived, you've Persevered. Wear those battle scars proudly and with honor!
